How are STDs caused and transmitted?

Sexually transmitted diseases are a type of disease that everyone is very careful about. Currently, the treatment options for sexually transmitted diseases are relatively limited, so everyone should know how to avoid various routes of transmission of sexually transmitted diseases in daily life to prevent themselves from contracting sexually transmitted diseases without knowing it. There are currently five main ways of transmitting sexually transmitted diseases, and everyone must pay attention to them.

Generally, STDs are spread in five ways:

1. Transmission through direct contact.

2. Caused by indirect contact with pathogens (patient’s clothing, utensils, etc.).

3. Placental birth canal infection. Once a pregnant woman is infected with a sexually transmitted disease, the fetus may be infected through vertical transmission (mother-to-child transmission), leading to miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, or neonatal infection, seriously affecting the health of the fetus.

4. Medically transmitted disease.

5. Direct contact (lesions or secretions) through non-sexual behavior.

The factors that cause sexually transmitted diseases mainly include the following aspects: 1. Viruses, such as those that cause genital warts, genital herpes, and AIDS. 2. Chlamydia, such as causing venereal lymphoma and non-gonococcal urethritis. 3. Mycoplasma, such as causing non-gonococcal urethritis. 4. Treponema, such as those that cause syphilis. 5. Bacteria, such as those that cause gonorrhea and chancroid. 6. Fungi, such as those causing vulvovaginal candidiasis. 7. Parasites, such as those that cause vaginal trichomoniasis, scabies, pubic lice, etc. These pathogens are widely present in nature and grow and multiply at suitable temperatures, causing disease.

Sexually transmitted diseases are infectious diseases that are mainly transmitted through sexual intercourse. Common transmission routes of STDs include direct contact, indirect contact, placental birth canal infection, medical transmission, and daily life contact. After being infected with sexually transmitted disease pathogens, some people have obvious clinical manifestations, but others do not show any symptoms. There are many types of STDs, some are easily cured while others are not.

To prevent sexually transmitted diseases, one should abide by moral standards, stay away from sources of infection, and avoid unclean sexual intercourse and improper sexual relations. Improve cultural literacy, keep oneself clean and avoid unclean sexual behavior. If you have suspicious genital symptoms, go to a regular hospital for medical treatment in time to achieve early detection and early treatment, and grasp the best time for treatment. This way you can recover in the shortest time and resume normal life.
