7 reasons why women refuse sex

A satisfying sex life is a source of comfort and happiness, but sometimes, this sweet love is often blocked by a woman's rejection. A survey conducted by the Center for Promoting Sexual Health at Indiana University in the United States found that physical discomfort is the main reason why women refuse sex, and these discomforts are also warning signs of certain diseases.

Refusing sex because of pain during intercourse:

A possible underlying condition is vulvodynia. The results of the largest sex life survey in the United States in 2010 found that 30% of women had recently experienced mild to moderate pain during sexual intercourse. In addition to insufficient foreplay and excessive sexual movements, the main cause is chronic vulvar pain syndrome, in which patients feel burning, stinging or knife-like pain in the vulva. Experts recommend seeing a gynecologist as soon as possible to rule out causes such as skin diseases or inflammation. Treatments include medication, analgesia, physical therapy, and biofeedback.

Having difficulty or never having an orgasm:

May indicate diabetes. Pain and side effects of medications can make it difficult to orgasm. But a 2010 University of Chicago study involving 2,000 participants aged 57 to 85 found that another major cause of difficulty in orgasm is complications of diabetes. Diabetes can damage nerves and small blood vessels. Experts say that in addition to actively screening and preventing diabetes, diabetics should tell their doctors about sexual problems while controlling their blood sugar.

Although I haven’t reached menopause, I still have vaginal dryness and difficulty arousing:

The possible disease is heart disease. Vaginal dryness in women under 45 may be caused by heart health problems. The mechanism is consistent with the link between male ED and heart disease. In addition, women who smoke for a long time may also experience vaginal dryness. Experts recommend a thorough physical examination to check for the causes and symptoms of heart disease, and to rule out other causes of vaginal dryness: early menopause (40-45 years old), perimenopause (starting at age 40), and side effects of medications. Vaginal lubricants can be used during sex to improve symptoms of dryness.

Little to no interest in sex:

It may indicate low testosterone levels. For both men and women, sex hormones are closely related to sexual desire. Before menopause, women's testosterone levels drop by about half compared to their 20s, causing their sexual desire to plummet. Experts suggest that appropriate supplementation of male hormones can improve women's sexual desire.

Extreme sexual indifference:

It may indicate depression or a side effect of depression medication. Loss of interest in sex is a classic symptom of clinical depression. Antidepressants can make people drowsy, and sexual arousal and orgasm become a thing of the past. Experts recommend discussing with your doctor whether you can switch to other medications to reduce side effects.

Making excuses for not having sex because of vaginal odor:

May indicate bacterial vaginosis. Bacterial vaginosis is often easily confused with fungal infection. The former is not an inflammation, but an imbalance of vaginal flora, which leads to abnormal pH value and produces odor, which ranges from ammonia to dead fish. The two diseases may also occur at the same time. Experts recommend that you see a gynecologist promptly, explain your symptoms, and take the right medicine. Avoid taking medicine indiscriminately.

Urine leakage during sex:

Stress urinary incontinence may be present. Urine leakage during foreplay, intercourse, or orgasm is not normal. Stress incontinence is caused by weakness or damage to the pelvic muscles. Childbirth, old age, smoking, obesity, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma may all lead to stress urinary incontinence. Experts recommend not drinking water a few hours before sex; urinating before sex; and rear entry and side-lying sexual positions can help reduce pressure on the woman's bladder and urethra. In addition, perform pelvic floor muscle exercises under the guidance of a urologist and receive appropriate drug treatment.
