How to use HIV test strips for self-testing

For individuals, if they engage in high-risk sexual behavior, they may be infected with HIV. It is best to go to the hospital for examination in time. Of course, if you do not want to go to the hospital for examination for some reason. You can also buy AIDS test strips for self-testing. The diagnosis rate of this type of AIDS test strips is also relatively high. When testing again, you must strictly follow the instructions to ensure accuracy.

1. Buy test strips

Buy test strips online from a reputable, highly reviewed company. This type of express delivery is usually packaged confidentially, so there is no need to worry about privacy issues.

2. Save the environment

In an environment of 15℃-30℃, open the box and you will find an opaque bag with the expiration date written on it.

3. Packaging details

After unpacking, there is a test kit, buffer solution and desiccant inside.

4. How to use

You can use the blood collection needle given by the merchant, or you can use your own sewing needle. Wash your hands and the blood collection needle before blood collection, and it is best to disinfect them with alcohol. Of course, it’s just a little puncture of the skin, so it doesn’t have to be so delicate.

5. Usage process

First, use the blood collection needle to pierce the skin a little bit. You can feel a little pain during the piercing process. Then squeeze it hard with your hand to squeeze out a drop of blood (this method can minimize the pain).

6. Notes

Then dip the needle in the blood and drop the blood into the round hole at the bottom of the reagent kit.

7. Add buffer solution

Add drop by drop, and wait until the previous drop has completely penetrated before adding the next drop. About 2-3 drops will be enough.

8. Change process

Next, you will see the liquid surface spreading in the observation area.

9. Observation

Soon, the control line (i.e., line C) will appear. Observe again after 5 minutes after the control line appears.

10. Make a judgement based on the instructions.

A positive result means that the patient has AIDS, and a negative result means that the patient is healthy. If no line appears or only the test line (i.e., T line) appears, the test is invalid and needs to be retested.
