Usage: Take Yuting (LNG) orally. Take the first tablet within 72 hours after sexual intercourse, and the second tablet after 12 hours. Due to individual differences, a small number of women may experience reactions such as vomiting after taking the medication. If vomiting occurs within two hours of taking the medicine, the same dose should be taken to ensure its effectiveness. It is best to take the medicine after a meal or before bedtime to reduce reactions such as nausea.

Impact on the fetus: If I don’t know I’m pregnant when taking Yuting, will it affect the fetus? No teratogenic problems have been found in the children who have been born so far.

Note:

(1) Emergency contraceptives such as Yuting are emergency contraceptives, not regular contraceptives. They are effective when used occasionally in emergency situations when contraception fails. However, if they are used frequently as regular contraceptives, taking them continuously and multiple times in the same menstrual cycle may increase the chance of menstrual disorders.

(2) After taking emergency contraceptive pills, you must strictly observe contraception, because sometimes taking them only delays ovulation, and unprotected sexual intercourse later may coincide with ovulation and lead to pregnancy. In addition, no correlation has been found between emergency contraceptive pills and fallopian tube pregnancy. However, many patients with ectopic pregnancy have a history of taking emergency contraceptive pills recently, and it is difficult to say what the relationship is between emergency contraceptive pills and fallopian tube function.

(3) If your menstrual period is overdue or you have irregular bleeding after taking emergency contraceptive pills such as Yuting, you should go to the hospital in time to check whether the emergency contraception has failed.

(4) Taking emergency contraceptives such as Yuting after multiple sexual intercourses, having unprotected sexual intercourse again after taking the medicine, or taking anti-inflammatory drugs, antiviral drugs, anti-tuberculosis drugs, anticonvulsant drugs, etc. at the same time will affect the effectiveness of emergency contraceptives such as Yuting.
