Does more semen mean better sex ability?

Many men believe that the more semen there is, the better the sexual function.

In fact, male sexual function is related to factors such as age, androgen and estrogen levels, physical strength and mental state, and has no direct correlation with semen volume.

According to the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO), the normal amount of semen a man ejaculates should be around 5 ml, and the specific amount is most affected by the frequency of ejaculation.

Generally speaking, newlyweds have more frequent sex during their honeymoon period, so men ejaculate more semen in the first few days, and then less and less. This is because it takes 1-2 days for male semen to form. If ejaculation is too frequent, it may lead to "supply exceeding demand". This small amount is certainly not a disease. It can be cured without treatment as long as the intervals between sexual intercourse are prolonged. Similar situations also occur when men masturbate frequently or have nocturnal emissions.

However, if you have not ejaculated for several days, weeks or even longer, and the semen volume is still less than 1.5 ml each time, it is considered to be too low in semen. Too little semen will result in the semen being unable to fully neutralize the acidic secretions in the vagina, affecting the survival ability of the sperm and being unable to maintain sufficient nutrition for the sperm, thereby affecting the activity of the sperm and leading to male infertility. Men with this problem may have reproductive system infection, tuberculosis, gonorrhea, testicular dysfunction, endocrine disorders, urethral stenosis and other diseases. It is best to have a semen test and refrain from sexual intercourse within 5-7 days before the test to avoid nocturnal emission.

Since a small amount is not healthy, is it okay to ejaculate a larger amount at a time, even more than 7 ml each time? The answer is also no.

Excessive semen is mostly caused by excessive secretion of seminal plasma and is a manifestation of seminal vesicle inflammation. At this time, the sperm density decreases, and a large number of sperm overflow from the female vagina along with the semen, which will greatly affect the female's chance of pregnancy. At the same time, due to the influence of pathological factors such as inflammation, the motility of sperm will be reduced, which is not good for fertility. Therefore, the more semen, the better.
