What causes weak sperm? Prevention is the key

Weak sperm is actually a disease called asthenospermia. Certain factors affect the motility of sperm, especially forward movement, which will prevent the sperm from swimming to the egg within the best time, and fertilization will not occur. It has a great impact on the family's "continuation of the family line". What is the cause?

Within 1-2 hours after male ejaculation, the number of motile sperm should be above 70%. If the number of motile sperm is less than 50%, it is abnormal, which is called low sperm motility, also known as asthenozoospermia. Asthenospermia is one of the important causes of male infertility.

Sperm motility directly reflects the quality of sperm. Generally, sperm motility is divided into four levels:

Grade a: good activity, active forward movement;

Grade b: general activity, with moderate forward movement;

Grade C: poor activity, weak forward movement;

Grade D: Inactive, no forward activity.

1. Long-term abstinence

If men do not ejaculate for a long time, it is easy to lead to high sperm density, many dead sperms and poor sperm motility.

2. Genital infection

Genital infection can easily lead to changes in the composition of seminal plasma. The decrease of zinc, magnesium, citric acid, fructose and the increase of pH value can affect the motility of sperm.

3. Varicocele

Due to the blood circulation disorder of the testicles and epididymis, the local temperature rises, toxic substances accumulate, and sperm motility decreases.

4. Other factors

Smoking, alcoholism, depression, certain medications, and systemic diseases can all affect sperm motility and lead to the occurrence of asthenospermia.

Prevention of asthenospermia:

1. Prevent various infectious diseases that endanger male fertility, such as mumps, sexually transmitted diseases, etc. If you find that your testicles have changes that are different from usual, such as swelling, hardening, unevenness, pain, etc., you must seek timely diagnosis and treatment.

2. Avoid prolonged masturbation. Prolonged masturbation can cause slow congestion of the prostate, leading to aseptic prostatitis, affecting the nutritional content, quantity, viscosity, acidity and alkalinity of semen, and inducing infertility.
