3 things cause vaginal lacerations

Sex is an extremely wonderful thing. Some say it is like flying in the clouds, some say it is like being in ecstasy. However, sex can also cause misfortune to lovers in their "sexual" happiness, especially for unmarried men and women during their first sex. Vaginal lacerations in women caused by improper sexual behavior are common, and vaginal lacerations are likely to cause heavy bleeding and shock, which can be life-threatening. Therefore, experts remind unmarried women or postmenopausal women not to be reckless in their sex life, otherwise the vagina may be seriously injured.

First time having sex, too much action caused vaginal laceration

Amei and Xiaoxie, both under 20, were in passionate love. One day when they were on a date, they could not control their passion and tasted the forbidden fruit. Since neither of them had any sexual experience, the boyfriend Xiao Xie was nervous and excited, and his actions were too rough. Afterwards, Amei started bleeding from her lower body. At first she thought it was the first time and it was accompanied by pain and a small amount of bleeding, so she didn't take it seriously and thought it would be fine soon.

But after 3 hours, Amei's bleeding from her lower body not only did not stop, but it became more and more severe, and even the bed sheets were stained red. By 2 a.m., Amei looked pale, dizzy, and weak, and her condition was getting worse. So, they both rushed to the hospital for treatment. After examination, it was found that Amei was bleeding heavily due to severe vaginal laceration.

The doctor pointed out that Amei's case was a more serious vaginal laceration. Generally speaking, vaginal lacerations mainly occur in women during childbirth. It is relatively rare for women like Amei to have their first sexual intercourse. Most of the time, it is because the man's movements are too violent or the penis is inserted blindly and too forcefully, causing lacerations in the woman's vaginal wall and damage to blood vessels. If the situation is serious, there will be heavy bleeding and shock, which is life-threatening.

Experts point out that when you first try sex, you should know when to stop, don't get too excited, and keep your movements as gentle as possible. If the hymen ruptures after the first sexual intercourse, a small amount of vaginal bleeding may occur. If the bleeding is heavy and does not stop, other situations should be considered and you should go to the hospital for treatment.

During menopause, vaginal tissue becomes brittle and can't stand the bruises and bleeds.

Generally, vaginal lacerations are not as common as male urethra, bladder, and rectal injuries. This is because the vagina itself is a very elastic muscular tissue and is protected by a solid pelvic ring. But the vagina can also become brittle, and if it loses elasticity it may be torn during sexual intercourse.

In fact, not all vaginal lacerations occur only in women who have their first sexual intercourse. Vaginal lacerations are also likely to occur during certain special periods. For example, in postmenopausal women, due to low estrogen levels, the vagina gradually atrophies, the mucosa becomes thinner, the vaginal tissue becomes more fragile, and the elasticity decreases. "Rough" behavior during sexual intercourse can also easily cause tearing and bleeding.

Experts believe that for women in the perimenopausal period, it is necessary to prevent vaginal dryness and keep the vagina "moisturized". You can use lubricant during sexual intercourse. The vagina has a certain degree of lubrication, so vaginal laceration is less likely to occur.

In addition, lesions of the reproductive organs, such as vaginal malformation, vaginal inflammation, cancer tumors, etc., may cause vaginal lacerations during sexual intercourse. Deng Minrui emphasized that if abnormal vaginal bleeding is found, you should be vigilant and it is best to go to the hospital for examination.

If you give birth too quickly, your vagina will inevitably be damaged.

Another common cause of vaginal laceration is childbirth. Although the vagina will become larger and wider during childbirth to accommodate the delivery of the fetus, damage to the vagina from excessive squeezing by the baby during delivery is still difficult to avoid. If a woman gives birth too quickly, before her vagina has fully expanded, lacerations can occur. A large baby, an abnormal fetal position, improper delivery procedures, etc. can also cause vaginal tears.

"Vaginal lacerations in this situation are often more serious than those caused by sexual intercourse. During childbirth, vaginal lacerations and perineal lacerations often occur at the same time," the doctor said. "Vaginal lacerations during childbirth usually occur in the middle and lower parts of the vagina. If the vaginal lacerations are deeper to the lateral fornix, the amount of bleeding will be greater and it will be more difficult to stop the bleeding."

Fortunately, the vagina has a strong ability to repair itself, and if there is only mucosal damage without bleeding, no suturing is required. In mild cases, gauze can be used to compress and stop the bleeding. In severe cases, the key bleeding areas can be sutured. Experts say that after a vaginal laceration is sutured, sexual intercourse should be avoided within 2 months.
