Genital warts can cause these complications

Genital warts are a contagious disease, mainly caused by long-term unclean sexual life or frequent changes of sexual partners. Having genital warts can cause some complications, leading to herpes in the anus and genital organs, skin ulcers, itching, etc., which are very harmful to the body.

Genital warts are an infectious disease. Unclean sexual life is the main way to cause this type of disease. It is extremely harmful and will not only threaten the patient's own health, but also affect your life and work, and even cause some serious complications. In order to recover health as soon as possible, it is very necessary to understand and know the knowledge of the disease.

What are the complications of genital warts?

1. Ulcers and bleeding: As the lesions grow larger and more numerous, they may cause local foreign body sensations and discomfort. Since the disease occurs mostly in the foreskin, urethra, and perianal area, these areas are easily infected by microorganisms, leading to ulcers, suppuration, bleeding, pain, and swelling in the affected areas.

2. Infect the baby and affect the quality of fertility: Pregnant women with genital warts may infect the baby through the birth canal during delivery, causing biting and respiratory warts in infants and young children.

3. Papilloma in non-genital areas: Papilloma of the conjunctiva and oral mucosa can occur through direct contact or indirect contact through contaminated objects.

4. Canceration: Malignant tumors are serious complications of genital warts. If HPV16 or 18 infection is not treated in time, it is likely to cause malignant tumors such as penile cancer in the future, posing a serious threat to men's health.

diagnosis

1. Typical skin lesions are papules, nipple-shaped, cauliflower-shaped or cockscomb-shaped fleshy growths with rough and keratinized surfaces in moist areas such as the genitals or perianal area.

2. Auxiliary examinations: The acetic acid white test is positive, nucleic acid hybridization can detect HPV-DNA related sequences, and PCR detection can show specific HPV-DNA amplification bands, etc.

3. Most patients have a history of unclean sexual life or a history of infection in their spouse. A few cases of genital warts are infected through contact with contaminated utensils, and newborns can also be infected through the birth canal. The incubation period ranges from 1 to 8 months, with an average of 3 months.
