Genital warts are highly contagious and difficult to treat, so in order to completely cure them, you must find the right treatment method as soon as the disease occurs, otherwise the condition will become more and more serious. From the perspective of clinical treatment effects, surgical resection, laser therapy, surgical curettage, electrocautery therapy, etc. are all good. Patients can choose one of them for treatment according to their condition. 1. Surgical excision: Surgical excision can be considered for larger, isolated warts with pedicles. Surgical removal of genital warts is generally not recommended because genital warts are prone to recurrence after surgical treatment, resulting in treatment failure. However, for larger pedunculated warts or those suspected of malignancy, surgical removal may be considered. For some patients, genital warts grow too quickly or are as big as cauliflower, making other treatments very difficult, so surgical treatment may be considered. Laser treatment: It is suitable for superficial warts on the vulva and around the anus. It is characterized by rapid effect, and the warts will fall off at the time of treatment. The most commonly used method is carbon dioxide laser, which burns the warts and usually removes them in one treatment. However, because the laser beam is too concentrated, laser treatment is only suitable for genital warts with smaller bodies. If the warts are larger, laser treatment will easily lead to recurrence. The cure rate can reach 80%. 3. Surgical scraping: During treatment, use your left hand to stretch the skin or mucous membrane of the affected area, or hold a sterilized scraper and scrape the affected tissue from the root with a little force; thoroughly remove the residual affected tissue on the wound, and then apply 33% trichloroacetic acid solution, pure carbonic acid solution or 3% ferric chloride solution locally. 4. Electrocautery: Electrocautery is an older treatment method. In the past, dermatologists often used high-frequency electric knives or electric soldering irons to burn common warts, moles, and other skin growths. Its characteristics are simple operation and quick effect. High-frequency electric knife can directly remove and dry warts, and the treatment is more thorough. However, the healing of the ulcer surface caused by electric cauterization is slow. In summary, electrocautery therapy can be used to treat any genital warts, but it requires high technical skills from the operator, and excessive or insufficient cautery can be harmful. At the same time, pay attention to aseptic operation to prevent infection. High-frequency electrosurgery or electroacupuncture is more suitable for treating smaller lesions of the cervix or vagina. Larger warts may require electrocautery in batches. |
