Symptoms of asthenospermia, both Chinese and Western medicine can diagnose

Once a couple gets married, the issue of "having a baby" will sooner or later be put on the agenda. However, many people have been married for many years but still cannot get pregnant. In feudal concepts, it is the woman’s “poor stomach” that is to blame, but sometimes men are also a big part of the blame. Such as: weak sperm. So what are its symptoms?

Western medicine judgment:

(1) A married couple has lived together for more than two years without taking any contraceptive measures and the healthy spouse has not become pregnant.

(2) If semen analysis shows that the forward movement of sperm (A+B grade) is less than 50% or the sperm with grade A movement is less than 25% for more than three consecutive times, while the sperm density and other parameters are normal or basically normal, the patient can be diagnosed with asthenozoospermia. Or after ejaculation, if the sperm motility is <50%, and laboratory or other auxiliary examinations can reveal reproductive tract infection, or the presence of other diseases that affect sperm motility, it can also be diagnosed as asthenozoospermia.

(3) For a specific infertile patient, semen analysis may often show multiple abnormalities at the same time. The diagnosis of asthenozoospermia should also include the diagnosis of related causes that may cause semen liquefaction.

Symptoms from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine:

1. Kidney Yang deficiency, semen cold stasis type

Symptoms: Semen does not liquefy, or liquefies incompletely, with clots or jelly-like lumps inside; scrotum and testicles are cool or feel cold; waist and knees are sore, and the patient is afraid of cold and has cold limbs. The tongue is pale with a thin white coating, and the pulse is deep, slow, deep, stringy, or thin and weak.

2. Kidney Qi Deficiency Type

Symptoms: Low sperm motility, or dead sperm rate of 40%; weak erection and weak ejaculation; premature ejaculation, spermatorrhea, and loss of sexual desire; soreness of waist and knees, fatigue and weakness; dizziness, tinnitus, and chills in limbs; profuse sweating and clear, long urination. The tongue is pale with white coating, and the pulse is deep and weak.

3. Blood stasis and stasis removal, thick and undissolved type

Symptoms: Semen does not liquefy, fixed pain or dull pain in the lower abdomen and perineum; enlarged liver or spleen. The tongue is dark purple, or has petechiae or ecchymosis, and the pulse is sluggish.

4. Qi and blood deficiency type

Symptoms: Low sperm motility, or sperm mortality rate of 40%; loss of libido, weak erection; thin body, sallow complexion, fatigue, poor appetite, abdominal distension, shortness of breath and loose stools; palpitations, forgetfulness, dizziness and spontaneous sweating. The tongue is pale with white coating, or the tongue is pale and fat with teeth marks on the edges, and the pulse is deep, thready and weak.

5. Liver depression and blood stasis type

Symptoms: high sperm mortality rate or low sperm motility; stabbing pain in the perineum or lower abdomen; gray complexion, purple lips; chest and flank pain, depression and anger; tinnitus and ear congestion. The tongue is dark purple, and the pulse is stringy or sluggish.

6. Damp-heat type

Symptoms: Warm, flaccid penis, weak erection; dampness and heat in the scrotum, bitter, sticky and uncomfortable taste in the mouth, thirsty but no desire to drink; hot, red and painful urination. The tongue is red with yellow and greasy coating, and the pulse is slippery and rapid.
