Infertility is a misfortune for many families. This condition is currently a relatively troublesome problem in medicine. Infertility is related to the physical conditions of both men and women. Infertility can be detected through tests. If infertility has been confirmed, you need to do these tests. 1. Basal body temperature Basal body temperature refers to the body temperature measured after waking up from sleep for 6 to 8 hours without any activity. Generally, the basal body temperature should be measured continuously for at least 3 menstrual cycles. In a normal menstrual cycle, the daily basal body temperatures form a hyperbola, indicating ovulation. The occurrence of ovulation and the quality of corpus luteum function can be inferred based on the basal body temperature curve. 2. Anti-sperm antibodies (ASAb) Semen contains a variety of proteins and is therefore antigenic. Sperm antigens in the female reproductive tract mainly produce an immune response after being absorbed by the cervical epithelium, and then antibodies, namely anti-sperm antibodies, are produced in the female blood or locally in the reproductive tract. This type of antibody has an agglutinating or braking effect on sperm, which has an adverse effect on sperm during sexual intercourse. Infertile couples who cannot find the cause of their infertility through systematic examination have anti-sperm antibodies. After these infertile couples use condoms for a period of time, the antibodies will disappear and they can become pregnant. 3. Hysterosalpingography For women without genital tract inflammation, 3 to 7 days after the end of menstruation, contrast agent will be injected into the uterus under X-ray fluoroscopy to observe the filling of the uterus and fallopian tubes with the contrast agent. An X-ray will be taken immediately and, depending on the type of contrast agent, another X-ray will be taken 15 minutes or 24 hours later to determine whether there is still contrast agent remaining in the pelvic cavity. 4. Hormone determination Mainly to measure pituitary gonadotropin and pituitary prolactin. Pituitary gonadotropins include follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone, which stimulate the development and maturation of ovarian follicles, ovulation, corpus luteum formation and maintenance of corpus luteum function. When the ratio of follicle-stimulating hormone to luteinizing hormone or the ratio of luteinizing hormone to follicle-stimulating hormone is abnormal, it can affect ovarian function and lead to infertility. The main function of pituitary prolactin is to promote mammary gland development and lactation. The normal value of pituitary prolactin in non-pregnant women is less than 20 mg per milliliter. If women of childbearing age suffer from hyperprolactinemia, it may lead to menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, galactorrhea and infertility. |
