In life, many people know that suffering from genital warts is a very painful thing. If genital warts are not treated, will the warts grow fast? Genital warts grow very quickly. The symptoms of genital warts often occur in the frenulum, coronal sulcus, foreskin, urethra, penis, around the anus and scrotum. Patients with genital warts, especially those carrying high-risk viruses, are highly contagious and can infect their family members or other people. Therefore, patients with genital warts should receive treatment as soon as possible. What diseases can genital warts cause? 1. Genital warts can be complicated by malignant transformation. Epidemiological data show that there is a close correlation between genital warts and genital cancer. It has been reported that 5% to 10% of vulvar, cervical, and perianal warts can become cancerous and develop into carcinoma in situ and invasive cancer after a long period of time. It has also been found that 15% of penile cancer and 5% of female vulvar cancer occur on the basis of existing genital warts. Many experimental studies have also proved that there is a causal relationship between HPV, genital warts and genital cancer. 2. Ulcers and bleeding: When the skin lesions increase in size and number, they may cause local foreign body sensation and discomfort. Since the disease occurs mostly in the foreskin, urethral orifice, labia, vagina, and perianal area, these areas are easily infected by microorganisms, leading to ulcers, suppuration, bleeding, pain, and swelling in the affected areas. 3. Infect the baby and affect the quality of fertility: Pregnant women with genital warts may infect the baby through the birth canal during delivery, causing HPV infection in infants and young children. This is a more serious complication of genital warts 4. Infection in non-genital areas: Through direct contact or indirect contact with contaminated objects, it can cause papilloma of the conjunctiva and papilloma of the oral mucosa. Condyloma acuminatum in the urethra is usually asymptomatic, but fragile lesions can cause hematuria, and large warts can cause urinary tract obstruction. Infants and adolescent boys and girls may develop perianal condyloma acuminatum, and female children may have vulvar condyloma acuminatum. Most cases of laryngeal condyloma acuminatum have been reported in infants, mainly caused by HPV6 and HPV11. The virus is transmitted through the placenta. Perinatal or postnatal infection is still unclear. Subclinical infection The vast majority of genital tract anal HPV infections are subclinical, and histological cytology can only detect less than half of them. Most of them are subclinical infections at the nucleic acid level. |
