What does artificial insemination mean?

Artificial conception is mainly a combination of in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination. At the same time, for men who do not ejaculate, the sperm of men in daily life can be artificially injected into the female's uterus or vagina to assist conception. It is mainly suitable for some infertility or some male diseases, male reproductive type diseases. Therefore, artificial insemination is mainly carried out using some medical or medical means.

The key to improving artificial insemination is to advance the accurate fertilization time, make some important observations about the human body in life, and pay attention to some other types of diseases when going to the hospital for treatment.

Artificial conception is a general term for the two conception technologies of in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination. Artificial insemination is a method of artificial conception, which is to artificially inject male semen into the female cervix or uterine cavity to assist conception. Mainly used for infertility. There are two types of artificial insemination: artificial insemination between spouses and artificial insemination between non-spouses. Artificial insemination can be used when the male has abnormal sexual organs, or problems with sperm quality or quantity, or when sperm cannot be directly extracted from the testicles, or when the female has insufficient ovulation, blocked fallopian tubes, cervical stenosis, or unexplained infertility. If the man's vas deferens is blocked or he has no sperm, artificial insemination between non-spouses can be used. If the man is over 50 years old, has abnormal semen or urinary tract inflammation, or the woman has genital malformations or other systemic diseases, artificial insemination is not suitable. To avoid medical and ethical disputes, the doctor should explain the method, success rate, complications and other ethical and social issues of artificial insemination to the subject before the operation can be carried out.

One of the keys to improving the success rate of artificial insemination is to choose the accurate time of insemination: artificial insemination is most likely to succeed within 48 hours before ovulation to 12 hours after ovulation. Commonly used detection methods are:

1. Basal body temperature (BBT) measurement: that is, the body temperature when the body is at rest. Record the basal body temperature measured daily during the menstrual cycle, draw a curve, and observe. The basal body temperature is lower during the follicular phase, and is lowest on the day of ovulation. The body temperature returns to normal from ovulation to 1 to 2 days before the next menstruation, or on the day of menstruation.

2. Cervical mucus examination: During ovulation, the cervical mucus is thin and transparent, and the mucus threads can be stretched to more than 10 cm. After ovulation, cervical mucus becomes cloudy, thicker, and less stringy. Fern-like crystals can be seen in cervical mucus smears before ovulation.

3. Hormone measurement to predict ovulation: The luteinizing hormone peak before ovulation can predict the time of ovulation.

4. Use B-ultrasound to monitor the development of follicles and the thickness of the endometrium.

The above is an introduction to artificial insemination, a method in which male sperm is artificially injected into a woman's uterus or vagina to assist conception. It is mainly suitable for people and families with infertility or some male diseases, so in daily life you must pay attention to good examinations and examination measures to prevent the occurrence of other types of diseases that affect fertilization.
