Australian experts in facial evolution conducted a study. They found that many models like to lower their heads and tuck their chins when taking pictures. So, the researchers made a set of 3D computer model images, tilted the same face at different angles, and then asked the subjects to choose the images they thought were the most feminine and masculine. The results showed that women who lowered their heads and looked up were the most feminine, while men who raised their heads and looked down were more masculine.

Experts from the University of California explained this from the perspective of sexual evolution. Because men are slightly taller than women, they generally need to lower their heads to look down when looking at a woman's face. After a long period of evolution, nature has deeply engraved this impression in the genes of men: those who are shorter than themselves and look up at their faces are beautiful.

In contrast, women tend to see male faces from an upward perspective. Therefore, for women, a man who tilts his head back and looks down at them naturally appears more manly. Therefore, researchers suggest that women should lower their heads more often and be more shy; men should hold their heads up and chests out to show their confidence.
